A person was airlifted to a trauma center on Thursday after suffering a serious injury while working on a second-story roof in the Isles of Boca community.
According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR), crews climbed to the roof and began immediate medical care. Ladder 57 was then deployed to lower the patient to the ground safely. Photos show the intricate rescue.
The injured individual was transported to a waiting TraumaHawk helicopter at nearby Sugar Sand Park. PBCFR said its flight crew continued medical treatment during the six-minute flight to a local trauma center.
The nature of the injury and the patient’s current condition have not been released. The incident remains under review.
