Woman driving Jeep dies of injuries suffered in crash in Sumter County

A woman who had been driving a Jeep has died of injuries suffered in a crash in Sumter County.

The 55-year-old Plant City woman was driving a Jeep Wrangler shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday southbound on County Road 471 south of Tarrytown when she entered the northbound lane and collided with a the trailer of a tractor-trailer truck which was northbound, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Jeep overturned and the woman was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where she died of injuries suffered in the crash.
