A Pepsi Co. Buffalo Rock commercial vehicle ran a red light causing a crash in Escambia County Thursday afternoon.
The commercial vehicle was traveling eastbound on West Nine Mile Road while approaching Navy Federal Way when the 40-year-old driver failed to stop at a red stop lamp.
Continuing to drive, the man went through the intersection of W Nine Mile Road and Navy Federal Way crashing into multiple vehicles making a left turn around 2:45 p.m.
Two people were injured during the crash. A 29-year-old woman and 30-year-old man were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The woman was driving a sedan and the man was in a sports utility vehicle.
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement conducted a commercial vehicle inspection during the crash. The commercial vehicle driver was issued a citation for violation of a traffic control device.
