A log truck collided with a small brick building in Escambia County on Tuesday morning.
Officials say the incident occurred at 7:29 a.m. at 106 South Highway 29, just south of Muscogee Road. The building, owned by Al Gulf Coast RR LLC, was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders from Escambia County Fire Rescue and EMS arrived to find an 18-wheel log truck had crashed into the building, with its trailer blocking a train track.
CSX was notified about the track obstruction, and Florida Power & Light was contacted to secure power to the building.
The truck’s driver managed to self-extricate and was transported by Escambia County EMS, according to officials.
Escambia County EMS transported one patient from this incident; there is no word yet on their condition.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
