Santa Fe High School student stabbed during fight, police say

A student at Santa Fe High School was injured in a stabbing incident that took place during a physical altercation.

According to the Alachua Police Department, the fight broke out between students on Thursday around 12:26 p.m.

School resource officers and additional patrol officers responded to the scene.

Police said that during the incident, a student pulled out a knife and stabbed another student.

The student suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect was also detained.

Police believed there were no other active threats.
