A 65-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a vehicle crash in Escambia County on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened on Michigan Avenue and Marseille Drive around 5 p.m.
An SUV with four people inside, including children, was at a rest at a stop sign. The vehicle was northbound on Marseille Drive, approaching State Road 296.
The 65-year-old man was traveling eastbound on State Road 296 in the outside lane, approaching Marseille Drive. Two vehicles in front of him slowed down to make right turns on Marseille Drive.
As the SUV was about to make a left turn onto State Road 296, the 65-year-old accelerated his motorcycle. He hit the left side of the SUV.
The motorcylist was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. He was cited for operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement.
No one else was injured in the crash.
