The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is responding to a crash involving a Brightline train and an SUV.
According to the sheriff’s office, just after 1 p.m., deputies responded to a vehicle versus a Brightline train crash that occurred at the intersection of 12th Avenue South and South Dixie Highway.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they learned that the vehicle stalled on the tracks when it was struck by the train. The driver of the vehicle was also hit during the impact.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and transported the driver, who was found outside the vehicle after impact, to a local hospital. The driver’s condition is unknown as of Thursday afternoon.
There were no reported injuries on the train.
