The eastbound lanes of State Road 20 at Radcliff Road were closed Wednesday morning due to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s website, troopers were dispatched to the scene at 3:28 a.m.
FHP said a vehicle struck a pedestrian who walked into the street in front of the car.
As of 7:48 a.m., the eastbound lanes were still blocked as crews worked on clearing the scene.
The sheriff’s office asked drivers to use an alternate route and allow extra time if traveling from Interlachen toward Palatka as the road is expected to be closed for several hours.
