All lanes of State Road 16 near Clay High School were blocked Wednesday morning due to a deadly head-on crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to FHP, three cars were involved in the crash. Troopers said one car rear-ended another vehicle, and then went into the lane of incoming traffic.
The crash did not involve a student, according to FHP.
Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Fire Rescue crews and FHP troopers are on scene investigating.
According to the sheriff’s office, the road is completely blocked with traffic being detoured in both directions from CR-315A to Randall Road.
Expect heavy delays in the area.
