A man is accused of attacking a nother person while being escorted out of an emergenmcy room at a Collier County hospital on Sunday.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, a deputy was called to Physicians Regional – Collier Boulevard around 8:18 p.m. in response to reports of battery.
The report states that GK, 72, was yelling at staff members in the hospital, and a charge nurse called for someone to escort Kuzma out.
The person escoring said that K stopped multiple times on the way out and that he had to touch K on the back to get him to move again.
The escort and K then exited the hospital and entered the parking lot, where K allegedly took an aggressive step toward the him, the report states.
The escort said he placed his arm out to try to separate himself from K. K then hit the him in the face multiple times, causing the his glasses to fall off, the CCSO said.
The victim, acting in self-defense, said he hit K multiple times in the face.
Deputies spoke with K, who denied being the instigator in the fight.
Staff members said that K was seen acting belligerently and required an escort in order to be removed from the building. No hospital staff members saw the physical altercation outside the ER.
K was treated for his injuries at the hospital and then arrested.
K faces a charge of battery on specified personnel.
