A 53-year-old Lake City man was hit and killed Saturday night on US 441 in Columbia County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said the man was in the southbound lane of US 441 around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when an SUV headed south struck him. They did not say why the man was on the road when he was hit.
The 74-year-old driver of the SUV stopped at the scene. She and her 79-year-old male passenger, both from Fort White, were not hurt in the crash, troopers said.
Both were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
