A man died early Sunday morning when he lost control on a curve and his truck flipped down an embankment on Gold Star Family Parkway, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
The driver was headed south on Gold Star Family Parkway around 4:47 a.m. when he missed a curve about half a mile south of Lannie Road, police said.
The truck slid off the west side of the road, flipped down an embankment and landed in the tree line, JSO said.
The driver died at the scene.
This marks the 139th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
