UPDATE: traffic can now get through on US-301. All lanes are open.
US-301 southbound is closed early this morning, following a deadly crash in Manatee County.
FHP dispatch reports show the crash happened around 2:15 a.m., near the intersection of US-301 and 15th Street E. First responders arrived on scene at 2:36 a.m..
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route while the investigation is ongoing. It’s unclear how long the road will remain shut down.
