Man, 37, dies after car rear-ends bicycle on US 1 in Nassau County: Florida Highway Patrol.

 A bicyclist died on Monday evening after being struck by a car on U.S. Highway 1 in Nassau County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the crash happened around 7:48 p.m. near Hunters Green Drive.

According to troopers, a 68-year-old man was driving a sedan southbound on U.S. Highway 1, approaching Hunters Green Drive. Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man was riding a bicycle in the same direction.

FHP said the car’s front right side rear-ended the bicycle, sending it approximately 200 feet south of the crash site.

The bicyclist, from Jacksonville, was killed in the crash.

The car stopped in the center median facing north, according to FHP.
