2-year-old killed after being struck by vehicle in Pinellas County: Florida Highway Patrol

A two-year-old has died after being struck by a vehicle in Pinellas County on Wednesday.

It happened just before 4:00 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 34-year-old Valrico man was going eastbound on 49th Avenue North, west of 80th Street North, in a Ford F450.

State troopers said the child left a nearby home without the parents knowing and walked into the path of the vehicle before being struck.

The two-year-old died from the injuries at the scene of the crash, officials said.
