The intersection of Highway 77 and Highway 20 in Southport is closed as officials work to clear the scene of a crash.
Law enforcement says an elderly woman driving a gray Nissan was traveling west on Highway 20 heading towards Highway 77 when she crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with a sedan headed east.
The driver of the sedan died on impact, and the elderly woman is now being transported to a hospital for critical injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is now on scene.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is asking drivers to avoid the area.
