One person was arrested and a deputy injured after a vehicle crash Saturday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
At 6:35 p.m., a deputy was responding to a call at North Street and Delia Street in Wimauma to back up another unit.
The sheriff’s office said the deputy had his lights and siren activated when he collided with a vehicle pulling out of a driveway.
According to deputies, the driver appeared to be intoxicated.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested the driver of the vehicle and charged them with driving under the influence.
The deputy was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
