Motorcyclist dies after hitting the back of a trailer in Hendry County

A motorcyclist died in a crash after hitting the back of a trailer Sunday afternoon in Hendry County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s press release, the crash happened on Pine Cone Avenue at the intersection of Kennel Street.

The report states a truck was in front of the motorcycle as they drove west on Pine Cone Avenue before the truck turned left onto Kennel Street.

FHP’s report said the front of the motorcycle hit the back trailer of the truck, causing the motorcyclist to suffer serious injuries before dying at a hospital. The crash happened at 4:43 p.m.

The motorcyclist was a 20-year-old man from Clewiston. A passenger on the motorcycle, a 19-year-old man from Clewiston, suffered minor injuries in the crash. The driver of the truck was a 62-year-old man from Clewiston, and he did not suffer any injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
