The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a hit-and-run driver after a man was seriously injured Wednesday on Interstate 95 in Volusia County.
The FHP said a 28-year-old Jacksonville man was standing on the outside shoulder near mile marker 234 around 1:30 a.m. while trying to repair a disabled 2011 tractor-trailer.
A semi traveling in the outside lane failed to see the man and struck him on the right side, troopers said.
After the collision, the driver fled the scene without stopping, according to an FHP crash report.
The injured man was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center with serious injuries, troopers said.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a semi with damage to its right side.
