A crash claimed the life of a local woman Thursday evening after she was struck while crossing Southeast Port St. Lucie Boulevard and Southeast Wald Street in an area without a crosswalk or traffic signal.
According to the Port St. Lucie Police Department, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Nov. 6. The victim, 52-year-old Lizzie Ricano-Bornot, was hit by two vehicles traveling in the same lane, one driven by a woman, the other by a man.
Ricano-Bornot was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both drivers stayed and cooperated with police. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors. The investigation is ongoing.
