Hollywood police are investigating after a Brightline train collided with a blue Honda Civic that was stopped on the tracks, authorities confirmed Tuesday morning.
According to police, officers responded to the area of Fillmore Street and Dixie Highway at about 4:47 a.m. after receiving reports about a car being struck by a train.
Police said the car became stuck on the tracks and was already unoccupied when it was struck by the train.
No injuries were reported and the train did not sustain any major damage.
“During the investigation and cleanup, all railroad crossings from Fillmore Street to Pembroke Road were temporarily closed,” the Hollywood Police Department said in a statement to Local 10 News.
It’s unclear how the car became stuck on the tracks.
