Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of Seminole Boulevard and Valencia Terrace. According to investigators at the scene, a car collided with an e-bike.
The e-bike rider, 82-year-old Darell Groves, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car, 62-year-old John Baustert, was not injured and cooperated fully with deputies at the scene.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office impairment and speed do not appear to be factors in this case. Groves was not wearing a helmet.
