The Florida Highway Patrol reported that there was a fatal crash on State Road 64— West of Duette Road.
According the report, the 53-year-old driver crossed into the oncoming lane and onto the north shoulder before hitting a fence and colliding into two trees.
He was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate this vehicle crash.
