Miami woman accused of dragging victim with car for several yards following argument

A Miami woman was arrested on accusations that she used her car to drag another woman several yards during a confrontation that occurred over two months ago.

According to an arrest report, the incident happened around 3 a.m. Sept. 13 outside a home near the 3000 block of Northwest 37th Avenue in the West Flagler area.

The victim told officers that she was outside with friends when CAC, 43, arrived with her daughter in a white Nissan Altima.

An argument began, the victim said, and C’ daughter grabbed the victim’s shirt and told her mother to “drag this h–” while holding on to her,” according to the report.

The victim claimed that C then accelerated as her daughter kept hold of her shirt, dragging her several yards to a nearby stop sign before she broke free, the report stated.

Police said the victim suffered multiple scrapes on her left forearm consistent with road rash. She told investigators she did not report the incident immediately “due to bad weather and no transportation.”

C told police she had been at a wake for a family member and that the victim had shown up wanting to fight her daughter.

She said she was driving a gray Nissan Altima when the victim approached the car and began punching her daughter through a window, according to the report.

C said the victim then grabbed her daughter’s shirt and that her daughter kicked the victim through the front passenger window, the report stated.

Detectives said a video provided by Collins was consistent with the victim’s statement. Police did not disclose the relationship between C and the victim.

Jail records show C is facing two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

As of Thursday, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with her bond listed as “to be set.”
