A man was shot and killed Saturday evening after deputies say he and three others tried to force their way into a southwest Miami-Dade home.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the area of Southwest 141st Street and 110th Avenue at about 6:40 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
A preliminary investigation found that four unidentified individuals arrived at the home and attempted to enter by force.
The homeowner, who was inside at the time, fired at the group, striking one of the subjects in the upper body, deputies said.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported the wounded man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The remaining three individuals fled the scene in an unknown direction.
MDSO Homicide Bureau has taken over the investigation.
