BSO: Man fires gun during domestic dispute in Pompano Beach

A man was arrested Thursday night after he fired a gun during a domestic dispute with a woman in Pompano Beach, authorities said.

According to Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Claudinne Caro, deputies responded to the 200 block of Northwest 11th Street after receiving a call at about 8:13 p.m. regarding a domestic disturbance.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that a man and a woman had gotten into an argument that turned physical before the man, Taurean Woods, 36, fired a gun, authorities said.

Caro said the victim was not shot, but was injured in the physical altercation.

Caro confirmed the victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Woods, meanwhile, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, discharge of a firearm in violation of a court order, robbery by sudden snatching and deprivation of 911 services.
