A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Brevard County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened on I-95 at mile marker 228 around 4:45 p.m.
According to a crash report, Yamaha FJR1300 was traveling south on I-95, south of Deering Parkway in the inside lane.
Witnesses reported the motorcyclist was traveling above the posted speed limit and failed to negotiate a curve.
Troopers said as a result, the motorcycle ran off of the roadway left and struck the guardrail.
According to the report, the impact cause the motorcycle driver to be thrown from the bike.
Troopers said the motorcyclist, identified as a 52-year-old Winter Springs man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
