Deadly collision at Port Charlotte intersection

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Charlotte County.

According to FHP, on Nov. 22, at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Conway Boulevard, a vehicle attempting to turn left onto Conway Boulevard collided with a 57-year-old pedestrian.

The pedestrian was critically injured and was transported to an area hospital and pronounced deceased.

The driver reported no injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
