Marion County Fire Rescue successfully contained a shed fire in Silver Springs this week that threatened adjacent property and animals.
The incident was reported on Monday, November 24, at approximately 4:47 p.m. Fire crews were dispatched to the 16900 block of SE 8th Place in reference to a shed fire.
Crews from Battalion 2 and Engine 4 arrived on the scene just three minutes later, finding a 10 x 20 foot shed fully involved in flames.
The fire posed an immediate threat to nearby structures and animals in the area.
Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines to commence suppression efforts. Additional crews from Anthony Station 1 assisted with firefighting operations, securing a water supply, and conducting the necessary overhaul of the structure.
The fire was declared under control at 5:01 p.m.
