Deputy passes away in motorcycle accident

Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) officials announced on social media that Lt. William Garlick of the CCSO died in a motorcycle accident.

Additional details about the incident will be released at a later time, according to the agency.

“It is my unfortunate duty to share that, last night, CCSO Corrections Lt. William Garlick lost his life in a motorcycle accident on his way home from his shift,” the post said. “Lt. Garlick was a dedicated member of the agency, a leader, a family man and a friend to many.”
