St. Petersburg woman flags down passing vehicle after being shot: SPPD

 A woman was hospitalized after a shooting in St. Petersburg early Monday morning.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, a woman was shot in the leg around 1:20 a.m.

She flagged down a vehicle that was passing on Dr. MLK Street South near 23rd Avenue South.

Officers said the woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

SPPD is working to determine where it happened, and detectives are investigating.
