FHP: Dallas man hospitalized after falling asleep at the wheel in Santa Rosa County

A 25-year-old Dallas man was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Santa Rosa County on Sunday night.

Troopers say the crash occurred on Interstate 10 westbound near mile marker 26 around 11:06 p.m. when the driver, who was traveling from South Florida to Dallas, said he believes he fell asleep at the wheel.

His white Toyota Corolla veered off the road, struck the guardrail, crossed both lanes, and collided with the inside guardrail before coming to a stop in the inside travel lane and left emergency lane, according to FHP.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
