A pickup truck and a Lee County school bus were involved in a crash in Cape Coral on Tuesday.
A Gulf Coast News reporter on the scene at Chiquita Boulevard and Southwest 26th Terrace confirmed that a pickup truck and a school bus were damaged in the crash.
The crash happened in front of the Storm Football Complex, near Gulf Elementary and Middle Schools.
Two people were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital; however, no children were inside the bus at the time of the crash.
The northbound lanes of Chiquita Boulevard were closed following the crash, but have since reopened, as both the bus and pickup truck were towed from the scene.
Gulf Coast News is working to find out what caused the crash.
This is a developing story.
