Authorities are investigating after a person was hit by a vehicle Thursday night in Sunny Isles Beach.
The call came in just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Collins Avenue and 189th Street. Police closed the roadway for several hours, creating a long line of traffic along Collins Avenue.
Officers were seen collecting evidence at the scene, including a shopping bag and other debris left on the roadway.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the person was taken to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital.
An ambulance remained parked outside the facility as crews awaited updates on the patient’s condition.
No information has been released regarding any driver involved in the crash.
