2 hospitalized for life-threatening injuries after shooting in Orient Park area, police say

 Two people have been hospitalized following a shooting in the Orient Park area, Tampa police say.

Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Phillips Street in reference to a shooting. Preliminary investigation revealed the shooting had happened nearby on N. Whittier Street.

Tampa police say a man was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. A short time later, officials say another man believed to be involved in the shooting, arrived at the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Details on what led up to the shooting are unknown at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
