JSO: Man shoots roommate in Southside apartment; suspect detained

A man is stable after being shot in his Southside apartment on Sunland Drive on Thursday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the man was sleeping in his bedroom around 12:30 p.m. when his roommate came in and started shooting, striking the man in his foot and leg.

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting.

The shooter then left the apartment and drove off to St. Johns County.

He was pulled over and detained during a traffic stop, JSO said.

The man was taken to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
