Two people are dead and an Ohio man is under arrest after a crash on I-75 Sunday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 14, at mile marker 203, between State Road 681 and and State Road 72.
Investigators say two vehicles were heading north when a Toyota Camry, driven by 48-year-old FD, collided with a Nissan Pathfinder.
After the collision, the Nissan left the roadway and hit a tree. The two occupants of the car were killed, troopers said.
The driver has been identified as a 69-year-old man from Pensacola; a woman passenger has not yet been positively identified.
D, of Bradenton, was arrested and charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter and as of Dec. 15, was in the Sarasota County Jail, records indicate.
