MDSO: Woman hospitalized after driver crashes car into her vehicle, flees scene

A woman was injured Monday morning in a hit-and-run crash in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at about 6:15 a.m. in the area of Northwest 119th Street and 22nd Avenue.

Deputies said a car struck another vehicle, causing the second vehicle to crash into a pole.

Authorities said the woman who was driving that car was transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital in stable condition.

The driver who caused the collision fled the scene without calling 911 or trying to help the victim, deputies said.

MDSO General Investigations detectives have assumed the investigation.

No other details were immediately released.
