Fruitville Road was reported closed in both directions near Tatum Road Wednesday morning after a crash involving 11 vehicles, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash involved a semi trailer and a dump truck, troopers said.
The Florida Highway Patrol and Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies are on scene
Witnesses told WWSB crews at the scene that as many as 15 vehicles may have been involved in the crash. Additionally, the driver of the dump truck may have been arrested.
At least two people have been taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the Highway Patrol told ABC7.
