Deputies: Man battered ex-girlfriend in a parking lot in Miami-Dade

A 51-year-old man faced charges after attacking his ex-girlfriend in Miami-Dade County, according to a deputy’s arrest report.

The victim said she was in a romantic relationship with NG for about two years, and they separated about three weeks ago after living together, according to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies.

The victim reported she was leaving work when she opened the driver’s side door of her car, and Garcia grabbed her from behind, took her cell phone, and demanded the passcode, according to deputies.

The victim reported she managed to persuade him to move away from her workplace to a nearby parking lot, where G got violent, according to deputies.

The victim reported G got out of his car, opened her car door, removed her keys from the ignition slot, placed his forearm against her neck, and used his hand and elbow to hit her in the face, right leg, and right arm, according to deputies.

The victim reported she jumped to the front passenger seat, he grabbed her purse, and she got out of the car, according to deputies.

The two argued, and G agreed to return her purse and phone, and she drove away injured, and reported the incident to deputies, according to the arrest report.

Deputies arrested G on Dec. 19 in Homestead, and faced four charges: Two counts of strong-arm robbery, burglary with battery, and battery, records show.

G appeared in court on Monday. A bond court judge ordered him to stay away from the victim and set his bond at $26,000. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Cristina Miranda was set to preside over the case.
