A man died, and another man was injured after a shooting on Monday afternoon in Lauderhill.

Police officers and fire rescue personnel responded to a report of a shooting near the 5600 block of Northwest 27th Court.

Police officers found a man suffering on the sidewalk and a wounded man inside a home, according to Sgt. Parys Thomas, a spokesman for the Lauderhill Police Department.

Fire rescue rushed the two injured to the Broward Health Medical Center. A doctor pronounced one of the men dead, and the other was hospitalized in stable condition, according to Thomas.

A Local 10 News crew saw evidence markers on the ground and a car police say is connected to the crime being towed around 10:30 a.m.

“It hurts my soul to see that. Our people are being hurt, and Christmas is just a couple of days away. Everybody wants to be with family and exchange presents. That’s not the kind of present anyone expects to get,” a neighbor told Local 10 News.

Detectives asked anyone with information to call the Lauderhill Police Department at 954-497-4700.
