Woman critical after shooting near West Miami

Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a shooting in the unincorporated Coral Terrace area on Friday morning.

It happened in the 6700 block of Southwest 13th Terrace, just outside of the West Miami city limits.

Detective Samantha Choon, an MDSO spokesperson, said deputies arrived at around 10:30 a.m. to find a woman “apparent gunshot wound to the upper extremities.”

Medics took her to a nearby hospital in “in critical, but stable condition” and detained a man, Choon said.

Deputies said the incident remained under investigation as of around 11:15 Friday morning.
