Crash blocks I-75, causing holiday travel delays in North Central Florida

Crash blocks I-75, causing holiday travel delays in North Central Florida

Getting home after Christmas was delayed for some drivers on Interstate 75 after a crash in Sumter County backed up traffic headed north.

Update: The Sumter County crash has been cleared; however, the interstate in Marion County remains congested as of this updated report.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers say a crash with injuries blocked the northbound lanes on the interstate just before the Florida Turnpike merger.

The crash, along with a disabled vehicle in Marion County, caused congestion for drivers headed north on Friday around noon.
