Motorcycle project causes house fire, fire officials say

Emergency crews responded to a house fire at Creekbend Drive, Brandon, at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) firefighters arriving on scene observed heavy flames and smoke coming from a two-story home and upgraded the incident to a working fire.

Crews advanced hose lines into the residence and brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes.

Firefighters searched the home and confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated before crews arrived.

No injuries were reported for first responders.

The HCFR Fire Investigations Unit determined that allegedly the fire was caused by the homeowner attempting to start a project motorcycle on the front porch.
