A speeding Corvette crashed through a Palmetto Bay neighborhood on Christmas Eve, plowing through a homeowner’s front yard and slamming into a boat, trailer and the side of a house, according to the homeowner and Ring camera video.
The crash happened in the early evening on Southwest 174th Street.
The homeowner, Genavieve Paige Villar, said her children had been outside drawing with chalk shortly before the car left the road. The family was inside when they heard what sounded like an explosion and ran outside to find the damage.
No injuries were reported.
Villar said she filed a police report and that the driver was ticketed. The family, who moved into the home about six months ago, said the crash has shaken their sense of safety.
“It’s very scary, especially on a holiday,” Villar said.
