Food delivery turns violent, Manatee deputies say

A Parrish woman has been arrested after allegedly beating a woman delivering food to her home, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.

CV, 41, is charged with burglary with assault or battery after the Nov. 28 incident, court records show.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim, a 51-year-old Bradenton woman, was working as a Door Dash driver making a delivery to V’s home on 102nd Avenue East.

As the victim parked on the road in front of Va’s home, V asked the driver to back into her driveway before delivering the food order.

When the victim refused, V allegedly walked to the driver’s door, grabbed the victim’s hair and repeatedly bashed her head against the steering wheel.

The driver’s door opened as the assault continued, the affidavit said. When V tried unsuccessfully to take the victims keys out of the ignition, the victim told deputies V went to the read of the victim’s SUV, opened the back hatch and took the food.

The victim then drove away and called 911 after taking cell phone photos of V and her home.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Deputies went to V’s home where she was sitting on the front porch, deputies said.

The affidavit says V told deputies that a “crazy woman” delivered water, throwing it into her yard before leaving. V was arrested and taken to jail.

V has pleaded not guilty is being held in the Manatee County Jail on a $10,000 bond. V has asked for her bail to be lowered, saying she cannot afford to pay the bond. She has a bond hearing scheduled for Jan. 15.
