2 families displaced after crews battle separate house fires in Riverview

Two families were displaced after Hillsborough County Fire Rescue battled separate house fires in Riverview on Tuesday.

Crews responded to a house fire around 6:54 a.m. at the 8600 block of Hickory Lane after receiving multiple 911 calls.

Arriving at the home, HCFR encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from a fully involved, wood-framed home.

According to HCFR, firefighters deployed multiple handlines to battle the fire and brought it under control in under 20 minutes.

Everyone inside the home safely escaped before the firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Crews then responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a house fire in Riverview around 9:41 a.m.

According to HCFR, crews arrived at Iris Spring Court, where they found heavy smoke coming from the home.

Firefighters entered the home to locate and extinguish the fire, bringing it under control in around 16 minutes.

HCFR said crews conducted a search of the home and found no one inside.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
