Fire destroys home on West Voorhis Avenue in DeLand; no one hurt

Fire crews in Volusia County were able to extinguish a house fire in DeLand Monday night, but not before it destroyed the home.

DeLand Fire Department, Volusia County Fire Rescue and Orange City Fire Department responded to the fire on West Voorhis Avenue, just west of Woodland Boulevard.

The fire started on the first floor and then engulfed the entire house.

Fire crews said no one was hurt.

The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
