JSO: Man shot in face while sitting inside vehicle in neighborhood off Normandy Boulevard

A man was hospitalized Monday afternoon after being shot in the face while sitting inside of a vehicle on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO Sgt. Scott said officers responded to the shooting on Guardian Drive around 4:15 p.m. He said after officers made contact with the man, he was then taken to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Scott further explained that the suspect fled the scene after the shooting. A description of them was not provided.
