Man named ‘Innocent’ accused of sexually assaulting woman after attacking her boyfriend in Miami Beach

A 28-year-old man was arrested this past weekend after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman and then kidnapping her moments after allegedly attacking her boyfriend in Miami Beach, authorities said.

Miami Beach police identified the suspect as AJLI.

Police said I approached a couple from California near the 900 block of Ocean Drive just after 5:30 a.m. Sunday as they were leaving the Voodoo Lounge & Rooftop.

They said I, who is listed as homeless in his arrest report, punched the woman’s 46-year-old fiancé, causing him to fall. He was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center and received two stitches for a head injury.

Authorities said that after the victim’s boyfriend was rendered unconscious, I forced her to follow him to another location, threatening to kill her if she did not comply. CCTV footage shows him saying, “Shut up! You’re going to listen, right.”

They said the victim was eventually able to flee after biting the victim while she was being attacked.

Jail records show that I had an active bench warrant for driving while license suspended.

Police said he was arrested and transported to the Miami Beach Police Department.

At the time of his arrest, they said I was in possession of illegal narcotics, including about 14 grams of suspected mushrooms and about 12 grams of marijuana.

Police also reviewed the suspect’s Instagram account, which they said contained posts made the day after the incident. In one video, he referred to a previous robbery attempt and initially denied any sexual contact with the victim.

Records show I is facing one count each of armed sexual battery and kidnapping.

As of Wednesday, he was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
